Air Traffic Manager (ATM)
- Responsible for all ARTCC operations
Deputy Air Traffic Manager (DATM)
- Appointed by and is an advisor to the ATM.
- Maintain the ARTCC in the absence of the ATM.
- Monitor the state of the ARTCC.
- Maintain the roster on the ARTCC website.
- Responsible for all conflict resolution within the ARTCC.
- Assists in development and implementation of new procedures and policies.
Training Administrator (TA)
- Reports to the ATM and VATUSA Training Director.
- Develops training materials.
- Oversight of training program.
- Assign introduction tests and instructors to new members.
- Selection of ZDC ARTCC Staff Instructors.
- Administration of the Mentor Program.
Staff Instructor
- Appointed by and reports to the TA.
- Responsible for training, certification, and promotion of ZDC members.
- Assigns written tests and conducts Over the Shoulder (OTS) examinations.
- Must maintain an active online presence on the VATSIM network and be available on a regular basis for training.
Mentors
- Appointed and reports to the TA.
- Assist the TA and Staff Instructors with training students.
- Must maintain an active online presence on the VATSIM network and be available on a regular basis for training.
Webmaster
- Appointed by and is an advisor to the ATM.
- Maintains the ZDC website.
- Updates ARTCC policies and procedures.
- ZDC Forum Administrator.
Events Director
- Appointed by and is an advisor to the ATM.
- Develop the Events Program.
- Work with other ARTCC’s, VATUSA Event Staff, and Virtual Airlines to organize events.
- Coordination of all ZDC events.
Communications Director
- Appointed by and reports to the ATM
- Responsible for creating and releasing all ARTCC press.
- Promote events.
- Maintains minutes from all ZDC staff meetings and posts accordingly on the website.
Facility Director
- Appointed by and is an advisor to the ATM.
- Assists in the creation and implementation of new procedures.
- Nominates candidates for Facility Lead to ATM for approval.
- Oversees Facility Engineer and Facility Leads.
- Liaison between ZDC and all military operations (both Pilot and ATC groups) for events, joint procedures, and Letters of Agreement
Facility Engineer
- Appointed by and reports to the Facility Director.
- Maintain all data files (sector files, position files, etc.).
Washington-Dulles (KIAD) Facility Lead
- Appointed by and reports to the Facility Director.
- Provide specialized local knowledge and training.
- Assists in the creation and implementation of new procedures.
Washington-National (KDCA) Facility Lead
- Appointed by and reports to the Facility Director.
- Provide specialized local knowledge and training.
- Assists in the creation and implementation of new procedures.
Baltimore-Washington (KBWI) and Richmond (KRIC & KCHO) Facility Lead
- Appointed by and reports to the Facility Director
- Provide specialized local knowledge and training.
- Assists in the creation and implementation of new procedures.
Raleigh-Durham (KRDU) Facility Lead
- Appointed by and reports to the Facility Director.
- Provide specialized local knowledge and training.
- Assists in the creation and implementation of new procedures.
Norfolk (KORF) Facility Lead
- Appointed by and reports to the Facility Director.
- Provide specialized local knowledge and training.
